Capacity Building
A pillar of YOUNGO is providing young people with skills to tackle the climate crisis and expanding their capacity to understand and address all the intersecting issues that surround it. During RCOY North America, young people will be provided with panels, side events, debates and discussion for open dialogue, where they can learn from each other and grow as advocates for themselves and their communities.

Panels and Sessions
During RCOY North America, delegates can expect to participate in dialogue spaces where climate tracks are discussed. Delegates also have the opportunity to listen and interact with plenary panels, as well as ask questions and share positions in partner-led side event sessions.

Network
For young people to achieve climate justice, it is crucial to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations working towards the same goals. Networking at RCOY can also allow youths to build relationships with potential partners, mentors, and sponsors who can help amplify their message and support their work. We aim to provide a space for learning from the experiences and perspectives of other advocates, including those from different backgrounds and regions.
Why do we need an RCOY North America?
North American nations like Canada, Mexico, and the United States possess the potential to significantly influence the global climate landscape. Collectively, North America boasts the necessary resources to enact substantial change, yet there has been a noticeable lack of action. Through the organization of this conference, our aim is to foster connections among young people from across the continent, ensuring their active participation in discussions about effecting change.
Youth are known for their resilience and innovative thinking, making their inclusion in climate-related conversations absolutely crucial. It is imperative that young individuals play an integral role as we work together to confront the climate crisis and shape a sustainable future. We firmly believe that the youth of North America hold the capability to drive substantial change and lay the foundation for a more sustainable tomorrow.
By embracing these objectives and engaging with them now, we can strive for a better world not only for the current generation but also for those yet to come.
